Me and my wife too got a letter from Kennedy, came to us by US postal mail few days ago. I think we got this mail because of the emails we send to support the comprehensive immigration reform bill.

I just called teh number and was able to talk to the officer.. he said the case under review.. means.. Any idea.

As others have replied, "under review" means, it is somewhere in the stacks of files. They may not even know where it is.

I collected 7 letters yesterday by simply talking to people walking in & out of a grocery store. I wanted to see how it will be at the BART station and I am very encouraged by the response received yesterday. Most people (including GC holders and citizens) provided their names and addresses and signatures without hesitation.
The reasons for only 7 letters (could have collected 15):
1. I was on my own after all. When I was talking to someone a bunch of 3 walked out of the store and I could not do anything.
2. Heavy rains which prevented people from getting out in general.
My only worry now... if you guys in and around Fremont continue to look the other way, ignoring this call to your precious 1 hour on any ONE weekday evening, I might get only 200 letters... when you and I together could easily get 1000+ over 2 weeks!

As part of the Washington State Chapter, I want to arrange a conference call for all Washington, Oregon and Idaho state members. I will send out details soon on the conf call.
The main agenda will be
1. How to increase awareness about IV and increase its member base/funding?
2. How to target the big employers in this region (e.g., Intel, Microsoft)?
3. How to meet all Congressmen and their Immigration staff?

Hi Michael, nice shots. It's easy to see that you brought the discipline and hard work of your nature work to the studio. What was your lighting setup? Flash? strobes? How many and what positions? and how did you go about metering? They're very beautiful but just a little flat. Shadows add depth and will make the flowers pop out more. How's that for a vague concept? :) But if you have the ability to reposition the light(s) you should get some very different and interesting results. adjust to taste. shadows are good in many situations. For renewal they did not even ask me for any documentation. Renewed online, went to DMV and got it for 4 years.
I agree with ashkam. If you renew online, you can get it for 4 years. But if you go in person to DMV, they will issue based in EAD.

enggr: You have completed the course in 2000 (per course completion certificate), but your degree was awarded in 2002 after you completed a supplemental exam. Since the position requires a candidate who qualifies for EB2, USCIS will deny your 140 petition. IMHO, you will have to start your green card journey from scratch.

Please be aware that experience gained at sponsoring employer can not be counted towards fulfilling minimum qualification requirement for labor certification. You must prove your qualification to the job prior to joining the sponsoring employer... minor details.
So if you are planning to file a new EB2 application with same employer, just count your experience till the point you joined the company, anything afterwards is not admissible.

This is going to be an issue for lot of folks who all filed for I-485 in the last year July fiasco. We will be forced renew every time. Only by giving 2 years is just a temporary postponement but not solving the real problem.
It is like Drivers Lincense renewal. If you have your documentation and you have been driving legally should be granted renewal instantly. Why can't they do the same thing with EAD?

In the first place.. it should be non-expiring .. something like valid with I-485 Receipt... and then when accepting EAD employer can check the I-485 status that its still pending... and any change will send email to the employer about 485 current status...
But then my dear.. where's the money...

USCIS: let sdo 1 year EAD/AP renewal... and we can sit for 90 days on it for generating this much money... and find cheapest ways of printing the card and mailing... If errors happen we might get more money :-)
Gov: why are you not moving dates and making more money?
USCIS: Okay we'll issue 2year EAD and accept more new apps...
and so on...

You can always ask for a copy of the approval after the I-140 is approved. Depends on how cooperative your HR and lawyer are.

Remember, USCIS only tells us "total" I-485 receipts. They don't break it down to what many of us are interested to know, which is, how many are family based and how many are employment based. There is no way to know how many of the 150K receipts issued in Sept for I-485 were EB.
FB and EB combined annual limit is 366,000 immigrant visas (226K FB + 140K EB)
That total also includes Asylum/refugee, DV lottery and Immediate Relatives.

I don't think it has anything to do with H1. I think its just a mistake on their part that they issued this to derivative instead of principal applicant. This is because they are asking for intended permanent employer letter and that terms of LC /I-140 is same. This seems typical of standard employment letter RFE that is issued to the principal applicant.
Is there a way you contact the IO to get confirmation if the RFE is for you or principal applicant? Do keep us updated on how your attorney plans to respond to this.
My Attorney is preparing the reply explaining my derivative applicant status, for all others docs like W2's, Tax returns etc. I am anyway submitting.
